Education Changes Lives in One GenerationMelody School sits in rural Guatemala, where families often face an impossible choice: food or education.
For Igor, who is one of the founders and director of Melody School, this is personal. His parents were teachers. His father was killed for his belief that every child deserves an education. As a child, Igor came to Canada with his mother and siblings as refugees. Here, he received something many children in his home village still cannot: an education. He went on to earn an engineering degree and built a career in Toronto, but he never forgot where he came from, so he went back with a clear mission: To give other children the same opportunity that changed his life. Since 2003, that mission has grown into Melody School, a place of learning, hope, and opportunity for 100+ children. Breaking the cycle of poverty takes helping hands and open hearts to fund a child’s education. |

- BUILT WITH HEARTS & HANDS
Brick by BrickMelody School has been built Brick by Brick, child by child with the hearts and hands of Igor, his family, and dedicated Canadian volunteers, mostly women.
Today: Melody school has 7 completed classrooms, 3 more are built but still need a roof! ❤️ This moment matters! ❤️ Everything is in place. ❤️ The walls are up. ❤️ The children are ready. ❤️ All that’s missing is the roof. Your support will finish what we started and give these children the space they need to learn, grow, and build a better future! |
